2940 14th Street: Pouring Concrete Foundation

Dave Janis and Justin Wood with Janis Development and we're here at 2940 14th Street in Boulder getting ready to pour the foundation. We've got all the forms in place and the concrete pump ready. Yesterday, we had the surveyor come out to make sure all the forms are in the right place before we pour cement. Then after pouring, it's a requirement for the bank to have another survey done.
We had a little problem last night because there was a lot of rain. This house sits on pure footings so there is shear wood that gives 6 inches gap all around the bottom of the foundation. What we're doing at the moment is to make sure that the shear wood didn't get damaged, so that the wall won't crush it, and we won't have to dig it out (which is about twice the damage if not checked). That's what we're looking out right now before we actually go ahead and decide with pouring.
It looks really simple, like you just have to get the concrete truck and pour the foundation but there's actually a lot of steps before we could get all that done. If we make mistake, it gets expensive in time so we want to do it right the first time! We'll keep you posted on this construction!
