820 15th Street: Construction Update

Dave Janis with Janis Properties and today we're at our newest project at 820 15th Street in Boulder. We're three blocks from the hill. This house is really cute albeit small. It's an old craftsman house from the series catalog, and just under a 1,000 square feet. I love the front door and I want to show you guys what we're doing inside.

Upstairs we have 1 bed, 1 bath, a little tiny kitchen, and downstairs is the same. The part that we really have to put some work in is the stairs going down which is really scary and a major hazard. We're going to rebuild this room and we're going to have the stairs come down with a little landing to make the downstairs a lot more livable. Downstairs is like a studio situation. We're going to acidize the floor and do a clear coat. We can put a carpet down or area rugs. We have a pretty good light and the ceiling height is okay. We got a washer-dryer and a brand new furnace which is high efficiency (you can tell by the piping). And then we got this cool bathroom here. It has a steam pump exposed copper look, old-fashioned but a pretty cool faucet. We think it's pretty unique and we're going to keep some of the features that the previous owner added in.
